St John Ambulance is a not-for-profit humanitarian organisation delivering the state's ambulance service and first aid training to the people of WA.

The St John Ambulance sub centre in Broome relies on the work of both paid staff and volunteers to run the local ambulance service and to provide first aid training.

The centre relies heavily on the support and involvement of the local community in order to operate.

Ordinary People Doing Extraordinary Things

A team of dedicated and generous volunteers work with paid paramedics and are always keen to welcome newcomers. No prior experience is necessary as training is provided. Volunteer ambulance officers join paid paramedics on rostered shifts.

If you are able to offer your assistance for one shift per fortnight, have a commitment to helping others and would like to join the friendly team please ring 9192 0710 as they would love to hear from you.

First Aid Training Saves Lives

Would you know what to do if someone was injured and needed your help? St John offers comprehensive first aid training. Classes are conducted regularly at the Sub Centre. Details of the first aid training schedules are available from the Sub Centre.

St John Ambulance is a nationally recognised training facility and has a well-earned reputation for excellence in first aid training. The Sub Centre has a purpose built training room or can bring a course onsite to your workplace, school or community. Instructors are professionally trained and courses are designed to be both informative and interesting with an emphasis on the practical aspects of first aid.

We urge you to contact the Broome Sub Centre for all your first aid training needs as choosing St John Ambulance supports your local ambulance service.

First Aid Kits, Supplies and Kits Servicing

A range of first aid kits for business and consumers are available for purchase from the Sub Centre. Supplies to replenish your kit and a comprehensive kit restocking service is also available.

Country Ambulance Cover

While you might have some ambulance cover, there’s a good chance you don’t have enough cover to meet all of your needs. For example, most private health insurance policies don’t cover any non-emergency trips.

With St John country ambulance cover you can protect you and your family and be covered for both emergency and non-emergency ambulance transport.

Contact the sub centre to find out pricing and organise your cover today.

Emergency + Smartphone app provides the user with;

  • Information about when to call Triple Zero
  • Information about who to call in various non-emergency situations
  • The GPS coordinates of the phone's location that the caller can read out to the emergency operator.

This is an app that everyone should consider having on their phone so that they can be prepared in the event of an emergency.

Being able to give the triple zero call centre clear instructions about the location of the emergency is crucial, and this app will help you do just that.

The app is free to download and can be found under the ONLINE RESOURCES section of the St John website: www.stjohnambulance.com.au
