Market Creations Pty Ltd has been appointed to produce the 2009 edition of the Shire of Broome Directory following an independent evaluation from the WA Local Government Association’s Tender Bureau.

The decision has been welcomed by both the Shire of Broome and Market Creations, as well as the Broome Chamber of Commerce who will, for the first time, come on board as an official partner in the project.

“We are pleased to be working with Market Creations again given the professionalism they have shown in producing outstanding results in our last two directories,” Shire of Broome CEO Kenn Donohoe said.

“This tender process has independently determined that Market Creations is the most qualified organisation for the job.

“So now its full steam ahead and we encourage all businesses to get their advertisements in as soon as possible.”

Previous advertisers will receive a copy of their 2008 artwork and the new rate card for the directory in the coming weeks with Market Creations representatives planning to visit Broome towards the end of September.

In a first for the Directory, all Broome Chamber of Commerce (BCC) members will receive a 10% discount in the publication.

Broome Chamber of Commerce President Patrick Imbert said Market Creations and the BCC will jointly share information and promote Broome's only official directory.

 

“Both parties will benefit from a long-term and exclusive agreement to offer the businesses of Broome a distinct advantage,” Mr Imbert said.

“Chamber members will not only receive a 10% discount on their advertising, but the BCC will also receive a substantial annual income from the partnership to put towards our business development initiatives.

 

“The income from the partnership means that we can now afford to continue to employ staff, improve our range of services and provide a direct financial benefit to our members.

 

“Market Creations have been particularly professional throughout our negotiations and we know they will provide a quality product that reflects the needs our community. “

 

Community benefit from the project will also include Market Creations providing free workshops on marketing and internet technologies in Broome as well as talking to secondary school students about careers in the industry.
